ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - UCF junior A.J. Nelson (Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.) was honored for his work in the classroom Friday with a spot on the CoSIDA Academic All-District 4 Men's Soccer Team. Nelson was one of 11 players in the region selected to the team.

A finance major, Nelson boasts a 3.63 cumulative grade-point-average.

On the field this season, Nelson has helped the Knights spend the entire campaign in the top 25. UCF was ranked as high as No. 6 in the country, the highest ranking in program history.

The forward has appeared in all 16 matches, making 14 starts. He has two goals and one assist on the year for five points. Nelson has recorded 22 shots, with seven coming on goal.

Nelson and the 13th-ranked Knights will conclude the regular season Saturday with a home contest against Marshall at 7 p.m. UCF will begin its quest for a Conference USA Championship title Nov. 9 in Tulsa, Okla.
