SAN ANTONIO, Texas. (UCFAthletics.com) - The UCF women's golf team improved by two strokes in its second round of play in the Alamo Invitational from Briggs Ranch Gold Course. The Knights carded a 4-over 292, and head into tomorrow's final round in seventh place overall.

Freshman Monifa Sealy (Glencoe, Trinidad and Tobago) continues to carve up the par 72 course, posting her second-straight under-par performance with Monday's 1-under 71. The talented rookie landed an eagle on the 13th hole, and heads into the final round tied for first with Baylor's Hayley Davis.

Monday's biggest move up the leaderboard for the Knights belonged to junior Carolin Pinegger (Marquartstein, Germany) who bounced back from Sunday's +7 79 to shoot a 2-under 70, moving her into a tie for 32nd. Pinegger posted three birdies on the day.

Sophomore Kaitlyn Price (Jacksonville Beach, Fla.) also improved in the second day of competition, shooting a +2 74 to place her in a tie for 38th along with teammate Robyn Doig (Seaforth, Ontario). Rounding out the lineup for the Knights was freshman Katie Mitchell (Fernandina Beach, Fla.) who carded a +5 77 on the afternoon.

Although the Knights are 12 shots off the lead, the team knows how to comeback after winning the Lady Northern Invitational when facing a 15-stroke deficit heading into the final round of play. Tuesday's final round of action will tee off at 9:30 a.m. EDT when Sealy leads off the action for the Knights.
