ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - The UCF women's novice rowing team kicks off the 2011 fall season when two boats compete at the Hatter Classic Saturday hosted by Stetson in Deland.
The Knights will have two boats competing at the regatta, with the Novice 4 crew scheduled to race at 8 a.m. and the Novice 8 group following at 10:40 a.m.
This will mark the first collegiate race for the novice squad, as they take on Stetson and in-state foes Embry Riddle and FIT.
The 5,000M regatta flows through the St. Johns River and into Lake Beresford, which surrounds Stetson University's Crew Boathouse.
Saturday's event will be the first of two for the novice squad as it will head to Chattanooga, Tenn., next weekend with varsity for the Head of the Hooch.
