ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - UCF forward Keith Clanton will start his junior campaign with an impressive milestone in sight. The Orlando native needs just 29 boards to join the 500-career rebound club.
Clanton registered 254 rebounds a year ago, good for sixth on the school single-season register. He ranked sixth in Conference USA with 7.7 boards per game.
Only 10 players in school history have grabbed at least 500 rebounds. Clanton, who has 471 career boards, will most likely enter the top 10 in program history in rebounds early in the year. Josh Bodden, who played for the Knights from 2000-04, is currently 10th in the list with 509 boards.
Clanton was recently selected to the Preseason All-C-USA First Team. In 2010-11, when he averaged 14.2 points and shot 52.9 percent from the floor, Clanton garnered all-conference third team honors at the conclusion of the year.
