ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - The UCF women's rowing team travels to Boston, Massachusetts on Sunday to compete at the 47th annual Head of the Charles race. The Knights will be taking on the past two defending NCAA National Champions, Brown and Virginia in the Championship Eight Women event.
Also in the race alongside some of the nation's premier collegiate talent will be national teams from around the globe in what assures to be most challenging regatta of the fall season for the Knights.
The race is 3.2 miles long and stretches from the start of Boston University's boat house to the end of Eliot's Bridge on the Charles River.
The Head of the Charles is the world's largest regatta with over 8,500 athletes from across the globe competing in 56 events over the weekend.
This will be the second of four races for the Black and Gold this fall. Two weeks ago, the Knights had both of their "A" boats finish in the top three at the season-opening regatta in Chattanooga, faring well against Conference USA opponents Alabama and Tennessee.
