LEXINGTON, Ky. - The UCF women's golf team ended a successful trip to the University Club of Kentucky when it finished second overall behind host Kentucky after shooting a +68 932 over the three-day Bettie Lou Evans Invitational. The Knights matched their 2009 finish on the Big Blue Course.

This is the highest finish for the Knights since they won the Hurricane Invitational in Feb. 2010.

UCF finished eight strokes behind the Wildcats and was led by sophomore Kaitlyn Price (Jacksonville Beach, Fla.) who recorded a second-place overall finish after ending the weekend at +10 (226). It's the highest career placing for the second-year player.

Price was a fixture in the top three all weekend, even holding down the top spot after the second round of play. She was joined in the top ten by freshman Katie Mitchell (Fernandina Beach, Fla.) who claimed her second-consecutive top-20 finish to begin her career at UCF after ending in a tie for 10th with a +18 234.

Junior Carolin Pinegger (Marquartstein, Germany) closed out the three-day affair with a 6-over 78 to tie her teammate Mitchell for 10th overall. Pinegger ended the weekend with her highest finish of the season after totaling a +18 234.

Freshman Monifa Sealy (Glencoe, Trinidad and Tobago) and junior Valentina Fontaine (Santiago, Chile) rounded out the Knights' lineup after finishing in a tie for 40th and 57th, respectively.

Making her collegiate debut as an individual for the Knights was Heather Proctor who held her own for a +16 232 to take seventh place overall. The Ocala native ended the final round with a five-over 77. Fellow rookie Robyn Doig (Seaforth, Ontario) ended the tournament with a +33 249.

The Knights will head to French Lick, Ind., next week for the Lady Northern Invitational.
