ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - For the first time in nearly a month, the No. 11 UCF men's soccer team will play a home contest when the Knights host Conference USA foe Tulsa Saturday. The match at the UCF Soccer Complex is set to begin at 7 p.m.
The Knights (8-2-2, 2-1-1) will be competing at home for the first time since rallying for a 2-1 overtime win over No. 21 Kentucky on Sept. 28. UCF was slated to host South Carolina on Oct. 8, but the match was postponed due to heavy rains that made the field unplayable.
UCF's last three matches were all on the road. Despite the lack of home contests, the Knights are still ranked in the top 15 in all four of the national polls. Soccer America lists UCF at No. 11.
Tickets for Saturday's match will be available outside the UCF Soccer Complex. The Gold Pass, which offers season tickets for all men's and women's soccer, volleyball, softball and track & field events, is still available by calling (407) UCF-1000.
The Knights have been solid defensively, and rank first in C-USA in goals allowed per game at 0.92. Junior Shawn Doyle (Fort Myers, Fla.) paces the league in goals against average (0.83). Junior Andrew Quintana (Miami, Fla.) guides the UCF defense, and leads all of the squad's position players with 1,062 minutes.
Sophomore McKauly Tulloch (Kingston, Jamaica) leads the nation in goals per game (1.20) as he has scored 12 times in only 10 contests. Senior Kevan George (Roxborough, Trinidad) has six assists on the year, good for 24th nationally.
Tulsa (4-9, 0-4 C-USA) hosts FIU Wednesday before heading to Orlando face the Knights.
Due to an event at the UCF Arena Saturday, fans should park in the baseball grass lot behind the baseball scoreboard. The lot can be found by taking Alafaya Trail to McCulloch Road to Orion Blvd to West Plaza Drive.
After facing the Golden Hurricane, UCF will play its final non-league match of the year on Tuesday, Oct. 25 at Stetson.
