ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - For the UCF men's basketball team this week is shaping up to be one of the busiest of the fall.
On Tuesday, head coach Donnie Jones will be at Conference USA basketball media day in Dallas. There, he will meet with members of media from around the nation and coaches from the other C-USA schools. At the same time, players will be working with the UCF video services department shooting video board intros at the UCF Arena.
The final day of individual workouts is Wednesday. Workouts have been taking place since the beginning of the semester, and allow players to work with one another before official team practices begin. Often, players of like positions will group together in an effort to improve their individual play.
UCF media day will be taking place Thursday morning inside the UCF Basketball Practice Facility. Players and coaches will be available to the media for interviews.
Friday is the day that coaches and players have been waiting all semester for. It marks the first day that full team practices are allowed to begin. In the summer, the Knights were allowed to hold a handful of full team practices because of their participation in exhibition games in Canada.
Friday night is the inaugural UKNIGHT Madness event. The event begins at 7:30 p.m. and is free to the public. The evening includes a slam dunk contest, a skills competition featuring both the men's and women's teams, and an autograph session following the event.
