ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - A week after a fifth-place showing at the UT Early Bird Classic, the UCF cross country team will run its second race of 2011 when it heads back to Tampa on Friday for the USF Cross Country Invitational. The meet will begin at 6 p.m. and finish with an awards ceremony at 7:15 p.m.

Seven of the nine runners who competed last week made their debut for the Knights. With their first race under their belt, the Knights look to build off of last week's fifth-place finish. Competing on Friday will be sophomores Ne'Ausha Logan (Long Beach, Calif.), Jessica Pachay (St. Cloud, Fla.) and Erica Winston (Long Beach, Calif.) and freshmen Ali Brandehoff (Orlando, Fla.), Emmy Brandehoff (Orlando, Fla.), Cody Castillo (Cocoa, Fla.), Teresa Huff (Titusville, Fla.), Jamie Perzanowski (St. Clairsville, Ohio) and Amelia Williams (Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.).

Teams participating in the meet on Friday include: UF, Tampa, FL Southern, FIU, Miami, PHCC, Embery Riddle, St. Leo, Nova SE, Webber, and host USF.

The next meet for the Knights will be on Sept. 24 when the team will travel to Gainesville for the Mountain Dew Invitational. Last year the Knights placed 13th in the event.
