TAMPA, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - UCF sophomore Mitch Thams had a big win Sunday to advance to the singles semifinals of the State of Florida Championships on the USF campus. On Monday, Thams will meet Moritz Buerchner in semifinal action.

Thams rolled past Blake Davis of Florida State, 6-2, 6-3, in the quarterfinals.

The tournament was scheduled to end Sunday, but play was suspended due to rain.

Thams and Juan Bolona also advanced to the doubles finals. Bolona dropped a singles match Sunday, falling in the B Draw quarterfinals. Willy de Vilchez of USF topped Bolona, 6-2, 2-6 (10-7).
