TAMPA, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - The UCF men's tennis team resumed action at the inaugural State of Florida Championships on the USF campus Saturday. Four Knights picked up singles wins during day two of the event.
UCF's Mitch Thams rolled to a win in the main singles bracket. The sophomore handled Federico Sabogal of USF, 6-1, 6-4. In the B Draw, Juan Bolona held off North Florida's Bo Treyz, 6-2, 6-7 (10-6).
In consolation play, Joe Delinks and Matthew Gladstone were both victorious.
Due to rain, play was suspended early Saturday evening. The event will resume with the final day of play 8 a.m. Sunday.
Thams and Bolona joined forces to post an impressive doubles win. The duo defeated Pedro Ast and Santiago Nieto of Miami, 8-3.
The tournament is the second of the fall season for the Knights.
