Head Coach George O'Leary
On the victory
I talked to the team before the game and said that in football, you usually have to win two out of three areas. You have to win defense, offense or special teams. Tonight's game, let's see if we can get all three done. I just congratulated them, because I think they got all three done tonight. I think they played very well as a team. It was a very good team win, and a great win for UCF.
On UCF's defensive performance
We are young in some areas, but the kid (Chase Rettig) was under duress all day pass rush wise. I like it when you don't have to dog and blitz to get that done. We played with a bunch of guys up front coming after him.
Sophomore Quarterback Jeff Godfrey
On the victory
We showed tonight that we could compete with anybody. As long as we go out there and do our assignments on both sides of the ball, we can beat anybody.
On UCF's defense
The defense has been great and we feed off those guys. They've been making plays, getting three and outs and interceptions. The defense had it going on early and late picking us up in the beginning until we were able to put some touchdowns on the board.
On playing at Florida International next week in Miami
That's my hometown. It's going to be great to go back down and play in front of my family. Just to play on that field again, my high school field, it's going to be something special. It will be pretty cool to go out there and play against guys I played with and against in high school.
Junior Running Back Latavius Murray
On the victory
I think it does show the nation we can compete against anyone. It was just the next game for us and we had to come out and play hard and run hard and we did do that. If we continue to play how we did today, we'll get the respect that we deserve.
