Head Coach George O'Leary
On higher expectations...
``I think it's a new year. We're looking for consistency as far as the program is concerned. But with expectations people can just look at what we did last year. My expectations are that we have an opportunity to play well and win each game, but we still have to play well and win the games. So I don't talk to our team about last year; I talk in terms of it being a new season, a new team and with new chemistry. In terms of expectations, the fanbase should have high expectations, but they need to show it too by coming to the games and doing the things that a good fanbase does.''
On Charleston Southern...
``One thing that caught my attention was that they have over 40 players from the state of Florida, so it's like a homecoming for those guys coming back. A lot of them are Orlando kids who are (former) teammates of some of the kids on our team. They'll have family and friends here. They have a very good quarterback - Dixon - who can hurt you with his feet and great quickness. You watch him on film against Division I caliber teams and he's moving the ball and making people miss in the open field."
Stat of the Day
-Charleston Southern quarterback Malcolm Dixon made his collegiate debut at Kentucky last year and went 7-for-8 for 45 yards while rushing for 96 yards.
What to Look For
-Besides the game at 7 p.m. of course, get to campus early Saturday for "THE PATCH" Parade of Champions between 3:30-4:30 p.m. along Gemini Boulevard. And as it heads to IOA Plaza on the West side of Bright House Networks Stadium it will help form a fan tunnel for UCF's Knight Walk as the players will make their way towards the home locker room.
UCF football season ticket packages can be purchased online at UCFAthletics.com or by calling the UCF Athletics Ticket Office at (407) 823-1000. Should UCF host the C-USA Championship Game for the fourth time in seven years, it would be played on Saturday, Dec. 3, and season ticket holders will receive the first shot at the best seats.
