ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - The 2012 UCF baseball season will see a few new faces around the UCF Baseball Complex. Head coach Terry Rooney announced Thursday that the upcoming season will feature the return of the Diamond Girls.
Assisting with gamedays and other baseball operational tasks, the Diamond girls are an extension of UCF baseball not just on campus, but in the community as well.
Responsibilities for a Diamond Girl include bat and foul ball retrieval during games, and handing out promotional items for the baseball team at home competitions, around campus and in the community. With construction taking place in the near future on the UCF Baseball Complex, tours of the facilities will also be a part of the Diamond Girls' tasks.
Applications to become part of the group can be found at the Baseball Complex offices across from Garage F starting Tuesday, Sept. 6 at 9:00 a.m. Flyers about joining the Diamond Girls will also be circulating at UCF's upcoming football games with Charleston Southern and Boston College.
