ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - News and notes from the UCF football team for Friday, Aug. 5. Today will be one of only two morning practice sessions of the preseason.

News
-With UCF Media Day set for today, the Knights will hold practice from 9:10-11:30 a.m.
-The Knights were ranked No. 33 in the USA Today Coaches Preseason Poll Thursday. For more details: Click Here
-Redshirt freshman receiver J.J.Worton made UCF's first highlight-reel play of the preseason Thursday by pulling in a pass with one-hand while straddling the sideline.
-Minutes later, Jeff Godfrey hooked up with A.J. Guyton for a 35-yard touchdown to the back of the endzone.

-A member of the C-USA All-Freshman Team, he racked up 33 tackles on the D-line in 2010, posting a sack against Rice and 7.0 total tackles for loss.
-In the AutoZone Liberty Bowl, had six tackles.
-Helping UCF defeat Georgia in that bowl game, the Knights were trailing 6-3 in the third quarter and the Bulldogs had a 3rd-and-4 situation on their own 16-yard line. Quarterback Aaron Murray looked to run for the first down only to have Gray force the ball loose two yards behind the line of scrimmage. Although Georgia recovered, the fumble forced the Bulldogs to punt.

Stat of the Day
-UCF has ranked in the top-25 in the nation for fewest penalties per game in four of the last five seasons (No. 14 in 2006, No. 18 in 2007, No. 56 in 2008, No. 3 in 2009 and No. 23 in 2010).

What to Look For
-From Aug. 6-17, practice will be held from 3:20-5:30 p.m. each day.
-Saturday's practice will be the first with shoulder pads, while full pads will be used Monday.

Should UCF host the C-USA Championship Game for the fourth time in seven years, it would be played on Saturday, Dec. 3, and season ticket holders will receive the first shot at the best seats.
