ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - It's Wednesday. Now isn't the time to procrastinate. Even if tomorrow calls for another routine trip to the not-so-stimulating office, show up in your UCF jersey and switch that plain white cup of coffee for a Black and Gold mug (although bringing a change of clothes could help if your lovely boss disapproves). Throw in a UCF pom-pom while you're at it. Waiting until Saturday afternoon to start your preparations for the season-opener is simply not a wise move.
Why? Well when you plan in advance and purchase that perfect birthday present for a family member, the build-up to finally watching them unleash on the wrapping paper can be palpable. And the exciting look on their face is something you always remember.
While acquiring that perfect gift can take time, the art of giving can be very rewarding.
So why would you wait until the weekend to catch up on your pregame needs? By beginning today, the anticipation level for Saturday will grow to a dizzying high and make UCF's game even more satisfying.
Checklist Time
Here is what to do starting today:
-Tune into Marc Daniels' The Beat of Sports every morning on ESPN 1080. Who else knows the Black and Gold better than The Voice of the Knights?
-Wear as much UCF gear as possible.
-Go gas up the cozy RV.
-Dust off the canopy tent.
-Instead of sitting on the couch at home, sit in your portable chair to get a feel for the ole boy.
-Buy as much charcoal as the grocery cart can muster.
-Catch up on John Denton's Knights Insider by clicking Here
-Test your stomach now to see how much you can eat. You do not want to enter Bright House Networks Stadium in a food coma, or else you will not have energy to jump up and down for Zombie Nation.
On Thursday/Friday:
-Set out your tickets and parking pass on the counter so you can constantly stare at them.
-If for some reason you do not have tickets, just a couple of clicks can change that: UCF Tickets.
-Attend the George O'Leary Radio Show at The MOAT in Oviedo Thursday at 7 p.m.
-Stick around The MOAT to watch Mississippi State at Memphis at 8 p.m.
-If you still do not have "THE PATCH," why not head over to Huey Magoo's near the UCF campus in Oviedo to pick one up, along with some fascinating chicken tenders.
-Head over to Bright House Network Stadium for Friday's Lunch with George beginning at noon.
-Study up on the insanely informative UCFGameday.com.
-While on UCFGameday.com, make sure to check out the parking map, tailgating information and what's inside Bright House Networks Stadium.
-Flags Up Friday - Break out the UCF flags for the outside of your car.
On Saturday:
-Wake up around 6 a.m. It will be hard to stay asleep when you begin thinking of kickoff that night anyway. So an early wake-up call will allow plenty of time to get your last remaining items, including friends and family members, organized. And determining whether Lucky Charms or Fruit Loops is the way to go also can be a time-consuming issue.
-Arrive on campus in time to get set up, fill the stomach with grilled delights and find a perfect spot for "THE PATCH" Parade of Champions. Click Here for More Information.
-Just over two hours prior to kickoff, visit IOA Plaza for Knight Walk as the team will make its way from the buses to the home locker room.
-And gates to Bright House Networks Stadium open at 5:30 p.m. That would be a good time to start piling inside to show your support for the Knights during pregame festivities right up until 7 p.m. for kickoff against Charleston Southern.
On Sunday:
-Repeat your previous week as Boston College will be next in line.
UCF football season ticket packages can be purchased online at UCFAthletics.com or by calling the UCF Athletics Ticket Office at (407) 823-1000. Should UCF host the C-USA Championship Game for the fourth time in seven years, it would be played on Saturday, Dec. 3, and season ticket holders will receive the first shot at the best seats.
