ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - After earning all-tournament honors at the Courtyard by Marriot/UCF Classic this past weekend, sophomore Angelica Crump has been named the Bright House Student-Athlete of the Week.
Crump hit .376 throughout the tournament, while averaging 4.5 kills per set and 4.65 points per set.
The 6-foot-3 sophomore was in mid-season form, posting a career high .619 attack percentage in the season-opener victory against South Alabama.
Showing no signs of slowing down, Crump continued the dominating play with 16 kills against Michigan State and UNF, both career bests.
After an impressive freshman season, ranking third on the team in kills and kills per set, Crump gave Knight fans a preview of what to expect this upcoming fall with 46.5 points during the event.
The Knights will look to build off their 2-1 record as they travel to Fort Myers on Friday for another three-match tournament this weekend. The Knights will face USC, Furman and cap off the tournament against host Florida Gulf Coast.
