ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - UCF rowing head coach Becky Cramer announced a pair of additions to her staff Wednesday as Marc DeRose and Tracey Tallman have joined the program as assistant coaches. The duo joins a program that boasts one of the nation's premier rowing facilities in UCF Intercollegiate Women's Rowing Center.

DeRose is no stranger to UCF, having served as an assistant coach during the 2008-09 campaign. He will serve as the Knights' recruiting coordinator, and work with the varsity squad. Tallman will lead the novice squad in addition to assisting with the varsity squad. She comes to Orlando after two years as an assistant coach at Sacramento State.

"I am very excited to bring Marc and Tracey to UCF," Cramer said. "Marc knows our program and knows what it takes to succeed here at UCF. After an extensive search, he was exactly who I was looking for to develop our recruiting and help build a winning team. Tracey is a perfect match because she has proven she can develop speed in novice rowers, and she will give our young rowers a great foundation to take us to the next level."

DeRose spent the 2010-11 academic year at the St. George's School in Vancouver, British Columbia, where he served as the head of rowing while teaching. The school's men's eight squad won the 2011 national championship. After leaving UCF, DeRose stayed in the Sunshine State, serving an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for the Miami women's program.

During his previous stint in Orlando, DeRose helped UCF to an impressive season. The Knights were ranked as high as third in the South region and 10th in the South/Central Region in 2009. Before coming to UCF, DeRose spent five years as the lightweight head coach at Columbia.

Tallman was the head novice coach at Sacramento State. This past season, she helped the Hornets pick up three gold medals, including two in novice events, at the Western Intercollegiate Rowing Association Championship.

Before moving to Sacramento State, Tallman served as an assistant for both the men's and women's teams at St. Lawrence in Canton, N.Y. At St. Lawrence, she helped coach the women's team to consecutive NCAA Division III Rowing Championship appearances in 2008 and 2009, the first in the school's history. The 2009 squad placed seventh at the national team championship and the 2008 team placed sixth.

As a student-athlete, Tallman competed four years for Minnesota from 2003-07, and was a three-year member of the varsity squad. As a senior in 2007, she helped the Golden Gophers to a Big Ten Conference championship and the school's first appearance at the NCAA Women's Rowing Championship.
