ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - News and notes from the UCF football team for Wednesday, Aug. 3. The Knights will be checking in from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. today before heading off to meetings. Practice No. 1 is Thursday at 3:20 p.m.
News
-Today marks the first day players report to the Wayne Densch Sports Center.

-FOX Sports Media Group announced several tidbits during C-USA Media Day Sunday in Memphis. It will showcase 26 regular-season C-USA games, with the C-USA Championship Game Dec. 3 to be televised by either FX or FOX Sports. In its first year of C-USA coverage, its first televised game will be Sept. 1 when Memphis hosts Mississippi State. UCF will have two games on Fox Sports Networks: at SMU Oct. 15 and at East Carolina Nov. 19.
-Among the voices in the FSN broadcast booth will be Ron Thulin (play-by-play), former Washington and NFL defensive back JC Pearson, Colorado All-American wide receiver and NFL return specialist Jeremy Bloom, Bill Land (play-by-play), former Cincinnati Bengals offensive lineman Dave Lapham and Emily Jones (on-field reporter).
-The FX Game of the Week features the veteran Gus Johnson with University of Tennessee standout and college football analyst Charles Davis. They also will be joined by University of Illinois tight end Tim Brewster as an on-field analyst.
-C-USA Showcase will be available to FSN affiliates, including Sun Sports in Florida, on Wednesday nights during the season, and after the football campaign, the show will focus on seasonal Olympic sports. C-USA No Huddle will feature on-hour delayed telecasts and replays of conference games that FSN regional networks in C-USA markets can run throughout the week.
-FSN regional networks also will televise two 30-minute C-USA season preview shows for East and West Division schools.
-Inside UCF Football and UCF Sports Today with George O'Leary is slated to air Tuesdays on Sun Sports beginning at 4:30 p.m. ET. More details will be released when they become available.

Wide Receiver/Kick Returner - 5-10/175 - Junior

-An All-American kick returner in 2010, he totaled 869 return yards on 27 attempts, posting two touchdowns and a 32.2 average to rank second in the country.
-For his career, he ranks fifth at UCF with 66 returns, third with a 27.5-yard average and third with 1,813 yards. He also places second with three kick return touchdowns (trailing only Todd Cleveland who had four).
-As a wideout, the Orlando native has 21 receptions in two seasons as a Knight for 270 yards and two touchdowns.
-Was named to the 2011 College Football Performance Awards Kick Returner Trophy Watch List.
Stat of the Day
-Through the first six games of 2010, Troy Davis had just one tackle for a loss. However, he posted at least half a tackle for a loss in seven of the last eight games, including 2.5 against Rice. Davis finished with 8.0 TFLs in 2010.
What to Look For
-Preseason practice No. 1 is Thursday from 3:20-5:30 p.m. Practices are open to the public, and cameras are not permitted.
-The Knights will hold practice from 3:20-5:30 p.m. every day from Aug. 4-19, except Aug. 5 when they hit the field from 9:10-11:30 a.m. and on Aug. 18 which is the annual UCF Countdown to Kickoff Luncheon.

Should UCF host the C-USA Championship Game for the fourth time in seven years, it would be played on Saturday, Dec. 3, and season ticket holders will receive the first shot at the best seats.
