ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - News and notes from the UCF football team for Monday, Aug. 29. Since claiming the AutoZone Liberty Bowl title Dec. 31, 2010, this is the week the Knights and the Orlando community have been waiting for as game one of the 2011 season is this Saturday.

-UCF kick-started its week Sunday by studying the gameplan vs. Charleston Southern, and its busy week continues with a Monday-morning practice.

-Joins A.J. Guyton, Darius Nall, Adam Nissley, Nick Pieschel, Ronnie Weaver and Khymest Williams as the seven Knights on this year's roster who were members of the memorable 2007 Conference USA championship team.
-Has 26-career starts, which ranks third on the Knights' offense (Nissley with 37 and Pieschel with 32).
-Made seven starts at left guard a year ago, including in the AutoZone Liberty Bowl.
-Brothers Jordan and Justin, both offensive linemen as well, were members of the All-C-USA Freshman Team in their first year as members of UCF in 2010.
Stat of the Day
-The Knights have won five-straight season-openers, highlighted by last year's 38-7 win over South Dakota and 2007's 25-23 triumph at NC State.
What to Look For
-As you begin to make plans for the weekend, make sure to leave Thursday night open for the first edition of the George O'Leary Radio Show at The MOAT in Oviedo. The show gets underway at 7 p.m.
-If you're a freshman, head over to the Rec and Wellness Center Classroom (room 111) to learn tricks and advice for avoiding the "Freshman 15." The session takes place today from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
UCF football season ticket packages can be purchased online at UCFAthletics.com or by calling the UCF Athletics Ticket Office at (407) 823-1000. Should UCF host the C-USA Championship Game for the fourth time in seven years, it would be played on Saturday, Dec. 3, and season ticket holders will receive the first shot at the best seats.
