ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - News and notes from the UCF football team for Sunday, Aug. 28. The Knights enter gameweek today as anticipation continues to grow for Saturday's tilt against Charleston Southern.

-Although they will not be on the practice fields today, the Black and Gold remains busy studying up on the game plan for the CSU contest this Saturday.

-Joined UCF in 2009 after spending 2008 at the U.S. Naval Academy.
-After working behind Blake Clingan for the past two years, steps up as UCF's top punter for his senior season.
-Including a 49-yarder at Tulane, booted eight punts for 301 yards while seeing time in five games in 2010.
-Played soccer at Sun Valley High School and eventually made his way to the football field as a kicker. Then suited up for Navy where an injury forced him to focus solely on punting.

Stat of the Day
-During UCF's four-game winning streak to end the 2010 campaign, Latavius Murray rushed for 419 yards and five touchdowns, while Jeff Godfrey was 51-for-73 under center for 669 yards, five touchdowns and a 163.97 efficiency rating.

-UCF resumes its practice schedule Monday.

Should UCF host the C-USA Championship Game for the fourth time in seven years, it would be played on Saturday, Dec. 3, and season ticket holders will receive the first shot at the best seats.
