ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - News and notes from the UCF football team for Tuesday, Aug. 2. The staff is getting busy putting together all of the materials the players need when they report Wednesday.
News
-UCF is holding a PATCH Party at AAA headquarters today at 11:30 a.m., while members of the UCF staff will be on hand at the UCF College of Medicine for freshmen orientation.
-Gordon Chavis Jr., UCF's associate vice president for undergraduate admission, wrote an informative column in the Orlando Sentinel about UCF's incoming freshman class. Check it out at: Click Here
-Interview requests for coaches and players are pouring in as UCF's preseason is about to get underway Thursday. Follow @UCF_FootballSID on Twitter for updates on upcoming radio appearances for the Knights.
-Head coach George O'Leary and senior defensive end Darius Nall arrived back from Memphis late Monday afternoon from C-USA Media Day. They will have one more media day to go as UCF's will be held on Friday.

-An experienced senior who could step up to replace the departed receivers Kamar Aiken, Jamar Newsome and Brian Watters.
-Totaled 73 yards on five receptions as a junior.
-For his career, has 23 receptions for 194 yards, and posted three touchdowns in 2008.
-Also has returned 20 kicks for 562 yards, highlighted by a 99-yard touchdown at SMU in 2007.
-Enrolled in graduate school studying sports leadership this year.
Stat of the Day
-While not all schools' official statisticians track quarterback hurries (for instance, there were no hurries credited at Kansas State and the two games in Memphis including the AutoZone Liberty Bowl), UCF finished with 60 QB hurries during 2010. That includes 18 from Bruce Miller and 14 by Darius Nall. Conversely, opponents managed only 22 quarterback hurries against the Knights' offensive line.

UCF football season ticket packages can be purchased online at UCFAthletics.com or by calling the UCF Athletics Ticket Office at (407) 823-1000. Should UCF host the C-USA Championship Game for the fourth time in seven years, it would be played on Saturday, Dec. 3, and season ticket holders will receive the first shot at the best seats.
