ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFathletics.com) - The UCF's men's soccer team will take on Saint Leo on Saturday, Aug. 20 at 7 p.m. to conclude its preseason play. The Knights enter the game coming off a 2-2 tie against Tampa, which marked the official opening of the newly expanded UCF Soccer Stadium.
The Knights' first goal came on a penalty shot midway through the first half by junior Nik Robson (Auckland, New Zealand). Robson also scored UCF's other goal off a loose ball with freshman Matthew Gaskins (St. Petersburg, Fla.) recording the assist.
The game is the first of the preseason for Saint Leo, who finished last season 9-6 overall.
Already this offseason, the Black and Gold have been picked second in Conference USA and ranked No. 32 by TopDrawerSoccer.com. With many individual and team recognitions thus far, UCF is ready to start the season with high expectations.
The Knights begin their regular season on the road against Jacksonville on Aug. 26 at 7 p.m. before returning for its first home game against UMass on Sept. 2 at 7 p.m.
