ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - UCF men's basketball head coach Donnie Jones talked about the direction of his program and his team's recent exhibition trip to Canada with some passionate UCF supporters Thursday. Jones was the keynote speaker at the UCF Alumni Association Board of Directors meeting inside the Fairwinds Alumni Center.
Jones spoke to over 40 attendees at the meeting about his first campaign at UCF, which included victories over big-name in-state opponents and time in the national rankings, and also previewed the 2011-12 campaign. He also discussed UCF's trip to Canada, which concluded this past Sunday. His team went 3-0 in Montreal and Ottawa, and Jones believes that the Knights got a head start on the upcoming season.
Jones, who is active with speaking engagements throughout the year, enjoyed meeting with the alumni group.
"It is always great to be around people who are so passionate about this university," Jones said. "Our alumni have given our program so much great support. It is wonderful to meet with them and take pride in UCF together."
