-On the progress of the defensive line: "I think we are doing well, and we have a lot of new people but they are all picking it up and trying to learn. They are asking questions which is the most important thing, it shows they are eager."
-On playing left tackle next to two new faces due to the departure of David Williams and Wes Tunuufi Sauvao: "It's fun to see competition because it makes everyone battle. I'm still battling for my spot. Nothing's guaranteed. So to see them keep fighting, it makes us better and whoever wins it out, I'll be more than happy to play alongside who is next to me."

Stat of the Day
-UCF's second opponent of 2011, Boston College, was only successful on 33 percent of its third downs last year, but found its rhythm under then true freshman quarterback Chase Rettig by winning its final five games of the regular season.

What to Look For
-This week will be the last week that practice is open to the public.
-A reminder that FanFest takes place this Saturday. The Knights will practice from 10 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., conduct their team photo at 4:30 while fans can join the photo immediately afterwards and sign autographs on the west concourse of Bright House Networks Stadium starting at 5 p.m.
