-Saturday also was a perfect opportunity to get a good look at some of the new faces for the Knights. Several newcomers are battling for linebacker spots alongside senior MLB Josh Linam, and head coach George O'Leary was asked about this position following the workout: "I've got to look at tape. I was disappointed in the contact point of the linebackers. There were too many guys waiting and not attacking. But that comes with experience and we will watch the film. Overall I wasn't displeased with the effort. There will be a lot of teaching off of this scrimmage tape."

Quotes of the Day
Head coach George O'Leary following Saturday's scrimmage
On the defense and the running backs...
"(The defense) played well but they've got to sustain and not give up big plays. The people who are in position to make a play need to make a tackle. I thought the running backs made some decent cuts on them though. (Brynn Harvey) looked the best of the backs today I thought. And Ronnie Weaver was Ronnie Weaver. He just brings it every down."

On Quincy McDuffie...
"We've tagged a lot of plays for him because I think he's just a special kind of player when he has the ball in his hands. He can take it the distance and make big-yardage plays."

Stat of the Day
-UCF led C-USA last year in rushing defense, pass efficiency defense, total defense, scoring defense, kickoff returns and passing efficiency.
