#5 - Blake Bortles
Quarterback - 6-4/223 - Redshirt Freshman
Oviedo, Fla./Oviedo
-The local product has been one of the many standouts during preseason camp while working with the second team offense.
-Did not see playing time last year as a true freshman.
-Serves as a different look at quarterback for the Knights as Bortles stands at 6-foot-4 and 223 pounds, while starter Jeff Godfrey is 5-foot-11 and 182 pounds.
-Similar to Godfrey (Miami Central) who set the Miami-Dade County career record in passing yards, Bortles (Oviedo) holds the Seminole County record with 5,576 career passing yards and 53 touchdowns.
Stat of the Day
-Followers of @UCF_FootballSID on Twitter caught this stat on Friday. The Knights are the only school in the country with four returning players who have posted at least 500 rushing yards in a single-season. UCF also is the only school with four current student-athletes who have recorded 10 or more rushing touchdowns in a single season.
What to Look For
