ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - UCF men's tennis head coach Bobby Cashman announced his team's 2011 fall slate Friday, and the schedule includes six competitive events. The highlight of the schedule is the UCF Invitational, which the Knights will host Nov. 4-6.

The event at the UCF Tennis Complex includes players from Arkansas, Auburn and Miami.

UCF will open the fall close to home at Gator Invitational in Gainesville Sept. 16-18. The team will split up the following weekend. Some Knights will head to Athens, Ga., for the Southern Intercollegiates, and the rest of the squad will travel south to Fort Myers for a tournament at Florida Gulf Coast.

Several Knights will play just miles from the UCF campus Oct. 7-9 at the C.L. Varner Memorial Invitational in Winter Park. The tournament is hosted by Rollins. Before concluding the fall with their home tournament, the Knights will compete at the ITA Regionals in Athens Oct. 20-23.

"This schedule will really test our guys during the fall," Cashman said. "The goal of the fall is to help prepare for the spring dual-match schedule, and I think that this fall schedule will really do that. Our home tournament is going to be very competitive, and I know that our guys are looking forward to playing some great competition at home."
