ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - On Saturday, Oct. 8 at 4 p.m., the hometown UCF Knights will host Conference USA East Division rival Marshall in a heated league showdown at Bright House Networks Stadium. The UCF-Marshall matchup has already become a can't-miss event each and every season, circled on the calendar by both fan bases alike. But this year, the rivalry game carries an additional special message - UKNIGHT in PINK.
In support of the Central Florida Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure®, and the Komen Central Florida Race for the Cure taking place the following weekend at Bright House Networks Stadium on Sunday, Oct. 16, the UCF-Marshall football game will help to serve in bringing much-needed awareness to breast cancer research and the tireless effort provided to the Central Florida community through the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
UCF Athletics and the Central Florida Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure® would like to invite all of Central Florida to the beautiful University of Central Florida campus on both weekends through the UKNIGHT in PINK Race Package.
The UKNIGHT in PINK Race Package, available through the Central Florida Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure® website, provides the following, allowing the community to participate in attending both the football game on Oct. 8 and entry into the Race for the Cure on Oct. 16. UKNIGHT in PINK Race Packages cost $45 for Race for the Cure walkers and $50 for runners.

The 2011 Central Florida Race for the Cure at Bright House Networks Stadium is a part of the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure® Series, the largest series of 5K runs/fitness walks in the world. The event raises significant funds and awareness for the fight against breast cancer, while celebrating breast cancer survivorship and honoring those who have lost their battle with the disease. Since its inception in 1983, the Komen Race for the Cure series has grown from one local Race with 800 participants in Dallas to a global series of more than 140 Races with more than 1.6 million people participating on four continents.
2011 UCF football season ticket packages can be purchased online at UCFAthletics.com or by calling the UCF Athletics Ticket Office at (407) 823-1000. Should UCF host the C-USA Championship Game for the fourth time in seven years, it would be played on Saturday, Dec. 3, and season ticket holders will receive the first shot at the best seats.
