ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - In just a little under a month, the UCF women's basketball team will help welcome one of the top college basketball coaches all-time to the Orlando area. Don Meyer, the all-time winningest head basketball coach in NCAA history across all divisions, will be at the Metro Auditorium in Winter Springs on Wednesday, Sept. 7 as part of the Don Meyer Leadership Tour.
The former Northern State University (Aberdeen, S.Dak.) men's basketball head coach has received national media recognition following a serious car and an inoperable cancer diagnosis in recent years. Two summers ago, Meyer was recognized during the ESPYs as the 2009 recipient of the Jimmy V. Perseverance Award.
Now, Meyer is out speaking to groups across the country, telling his story and sharing his wisdom and winning ways. His Central Florida appearance is set for Sept. 7 at the Metro Auditorium in Winter Springs and is an all-day event.
For more information, please contact Carmen Johnson (Carmen.johnson@northern.edu) or UCF women's basketball associate head coach Greg Brown (gbrown@athletics.ucf.edu).
