ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - On most evenings, A.J. Rompza will head to the UCF Basketball Practice Facility well after midnight hoping to get in some extra shooting. As he walks through the doors to the Knights' practice court, the senior point guard typically finds that he is not alone.

Several Knights - from Dwight McCombs to Isaiah Sykes to P.J. Gaynor to Tristan Spurlock - are also putting in extra work this summer, usually in the form of late-night shooting sessions.

That Rompza is meeting his teammates for workouts long after most UCF fans have gone to sleep certainly bodes well for the Knights. UCF players have 24-hour access to the practice facility and are clearly taking advantage of the opportunity.

Rompza is happy each time he sees his teammates working out, regardless of the time of day.

"You have to love it. As a leader, it is great to see that everyone else wants to be good. They are putting the time in. You see that guys are dedicated. As someone who loves basketball so much, to have teammates who are dedicated, and have the same goals as you, which is to win, is a great feeling," Romzpa said.

Rompza believes that the extra work on shooting and ball handling will pay dividends during the season. For now though, he is pleased that his teammates are committed to getting better and making the most of the upcoming year.

"When I come in late, I see guys here," he said of the late-evening workouts. "I am all in. And we are all on the same page."
