ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - When the UCF men's basketball team competes in the Bahamas at the Battle 4 Atlantis in November, the Knights could meet defending national champion Connecticut. If head coach Donnie Jones' squad does meet the Huskies, the Knights will already be accustomed to facing a championship team.
UCF is scheduled to head to Canada starting Aug. 10 for three exhibition games. While in Canada, the Knights will face Carleton University, a program that has won seven of the last nine Canadian Interuniversity Sport national titles, including the 2010-11 crown. The Knights will face the Ravens in Ottawa on Aug. 11.
Carleton will face eight NCAA squads in August and September, including LaSalle, Akron, Saint Louis and UC-Santa Barbara.
The Knights' other games in Canada will be played in Montreal.
The NCAA allows teams taking foreign trips to practice 10 times before leaving the United States. The Knights had their first session this past Monday, and will return to the practice court late next week.
