ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - On July 17, about 200 volunteers participated in a flash mob at the Mall at Millenia in Orlando. Among the volunteers in the event were UCF cheer and dance team members who choreographed and taught the dance to all of the participants.
A flash mob is when a large group of people assemble in a public area for a brief time and perform. This flash mob was held to bring awareness to Give Kids the World and their new "Ice Cream for Breakfast Campaign". Give Kids the World Manager Leah Bundy commented, "We are so grateful for the support of the UCF cheer and dance teams for creating the choreography and leading the rehearsals for the participants. Their hard work and devotion ensured the success of this event."
Give Kids the World is a non-profit organization that helps grant wishes to children with severe illnesses. Give Kids the World gives the children and their families an opportunity to visit Central Florida and all of the attractions. The organization brings the children and their families to stay at their large resort located in Kissimmee filled with entertainment and accommodations for the children and their families, along with giving them tickets to the attractions of their choosing.
UCF dance coach Patty Adams was excited about the opportunity to participate in this worthwhile cause. "The team members really worked hard to raise awareness for the great work that Give Kids The World does. Seeing the smiles on the faces of these special kids and their families was so rewarding."
