ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Already having clinched spots on three preseason football watch lists, UCF junior Josh Robinson (Sunrise, Fla.) added another to his growing collection of accolades Monday. The Football Writers Association of America announced Robinson was one of just 37 players in the nation selected to the Thorpe Award Watch List, which is handed out to the country's top defensive back.

Robinson was the only cornerback from Conference USA that earned a spot on the Thorpe Award Watch List. The winner of the Thorpe Award will be announced Dec. 8 at The Home Depot College Football Awards Show at 9 p.m. on ESPN, and the presentation banquet is set for Feb. 7, 2012, in Oklahoma City.

No stranger to picking up honors for his play on the gridiron, here is the complete rundown of Robinson's watch lists:

Josh Robinson's 2011 Preseason Watch Lists
FWAA Thorpe Award - Top Defensive Back
FWAA Bronko Nagurski Trophy - Top Defensive Player
College Football Performance Awards Defensive Back Trophy
College Football Performance Awards Punt Returner Trophy

Starting immediately as a true freshman in 2009, Robinson went on to be voted onto the C-USA All-Freshman Team and the All-C-USA Second Team. The 5-foot-11 corner racked up six interceptions and eight pass break-ups in his first-collegiate campaign, helping the Knights to a spot in the St. Petersburg Bowl.

One year later, the UCF defense remained one of the top units in college football and Robinson was once again dominant in the secondary en route to C-USA and AutoZone Liberty Bowl titles. Although opposing quarterbacks feared throwing in his direction, he still managed two interceptions and 13 break-ups to be named to the All-C-USA First Team, and now currently ranks in a tie for sixth all-time at UCF with eight-career picks.

Along with his stellar play on defense, Robinson finished 2010 ninth among all punt returners in the FBS by averaging 15.20 yards per return, totaling 304 yards on 20 attempts.

UCF football season ticket packages can be purchased online at UCFAthletics.com or by calling the UCF Athletics Ticket Office at (407) 823-1000. Should UCF host the C-USA Championship Game for the fourth time in seven years, it would be played on Saturday, Dec. 3, and season ticket holders will receive the first shot at the best seats.
