ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Sitting out the 2010-11 campaign was not easy for Jeff Jordan. When Jordan arrived at UCF last summer after transferring from Illinois, the guard was more than ready to compete for the Knights, and have the opportunity to play alongside his brother Marcus.

But he still made the most of his transfer year. The senior joined fellow transfers Josh Crittle and Tristan Spurlock to form one of the nation's most talented scout teams. Jordan also worked on improving his individual game.

"It was one of the hardest years that I have ever had to go through," he said. "But I got a lot better from it."

As a point guard, Jordan said he benefited from having the opportunity to observe and gradually learn UCF's up-tempo offense.

During his three years at Illinois, Jordan appeared in 92 career contests. As a junior in 2009-10, he ranked third on the team with 1.7 assists per game. He was often commended for his defensive play, and is working on his offensive game this summer.

"I am working on improving my jump shot. I feel very comfortable shooting the three," he said.

Jordan's biggest impact with the Knights next season could come off the court. With four years of college experience, Jordan could provide valuable guidance to his teammates.

"I am looking forward to being a leader. I want to lead the team as well as possible."

And with Jordan being the only member of the Knights who has played on NIT and NCAA Tournament squads, his teammates will be happy to follow his lead.
