ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - It is not too late to sign up for Donnie Jones' youth basketball camps, which start Monday. The camps, which are held at the UCF Basketball Practice Facility and the UCF Arena on campus, provide opportunities for children of all ages and ability levels to improve their basketball skills in a fun, positive atmosphere.
All of the camps include instruction from Jones, members of the Knights' coaching staff as well as UCF players. Registration for the camps is available now at DonnieJonesBasketball.com.
The Individual Camp is set for June 13-16 for children ages 10-18. Campers receive daily meals, a camp t-shirt and can participate in an autograph session with UCF players and coaches.
The Little Knights Day Camp, for children ages 7-9, will be held June 13-16, with campers receiving a t-shirt and participation in an autograph session with UCF players and coaches.
Jones is also hosting a Team Camp June 24-26. The camp is open to high school and AAU teams (9th-12th grades). Teams are guaranteed at least six games that are officiated by certified referees.
Jones' first campaign as UCF's head coach was a success. The Knights won 21 games in 2010-11, defeated No. 16 Florida and entered the national rankings for the first time in school history. Jones is no stranger to team achievement, having helped Florida claim back-to-back national championships in 2006 and 2007 during his time as an assistant coach with the Gators.
