ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - With the 2011 campaign quickly approaching, the UCF football team has already posted an impressive accomplishment this year. The Knights recorded a program-record 2.844 team grade point average during the spring semester.
Fifty-five Knights (52 percent of the team) posted a 3.0 or better GPA. Following the spring, the team now boasts a 2.842 cumulative GPA.
This past weekend, 14 Knights, including five who will suit up for UCF in 2011, received their bachelor's degrees. Lyle Dankenbring, A.J. Guyton, Adam Nissley, Nick Pieschel and Ronnie Weaver have all graduated, and will be working on either master's degrees or second bachelor's degrees while they compete for UCF this year.
Kamar Aiken, Justin Boddie, Jack Carter, James Getsee, Derrick Hallman, Omar Hansborough, Austin Hudson, Ricky Kay and Abre Leggins also graduated over the weekend.
In April, 35 members of the team garnered spots on the Conference USA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll with at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA in the 2010 spring and/or fall terms.
