ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - UCF men's tennis head coach Bobby Cashman announced Friday that a pair of talented transfers - Francesc Aulina and Juan Bolona - have joined the Knights. Aulina just completed his freshman campaign at Virginia Tech, while Bolona spent two years at Clemson.

A native of Barcelona, Spain, Aulina joined the Hokies in time for the 2011 dual-match season and picked up three singles victories. Prior to embarking on his college career, he excelled on the junior circuit in Spain. He competed in singles play in the 2008 and 2009 Masters of Catalunuya. His team won the Catalunya title in 2003, 2004, 2005, 2007 and 2008. Aulina was also took the crown at the C.T. Harcina in 2008.

Bolona, from Miami Beach, went 5-1 in dual-match play as a sophomore. In two campaigns at Clemson, he won 16 singles contests. In 2011, he joined Dominique Maden to go 12-4 in doubles competition, including a 4-0 mark at No. 1. Before heading to Clemson, Bolona was the No. 1 ranked junior player in his native Ecuador. He posted wins over the No. 141-ranked player and several other players in the top 350 according to the ITF World Rankings for his age group.

"These are two great additions to our program," Cashman said. "Both Francesc and Juan bring great college experience to our program. They competed against some very good players, and we are excited to have them on board."

Both Aulina and Bolona will make their UCF debuts during the fall 2011 tournament season.
