ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Despite the UCF men's soccer team's run into the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament, the team's biggest goal of the season came in early October. That goal came off the foot of then-junior Spencer Scott in the 66th minute of UCF's 2-1 upset over No. 5 SMU.

Scott gave his team the lead and ended the Mustangs' hopes for an unbeaten season with the marker from 20 yards out. Earlier in the day, the Knights' midfielder had promised his mother a goal for her birthday, a promise he would deliver on.

The win was the first against a top 10 team for UCF and set the tone for the most successful season in program history.

Scott ended the season third on the team in scoring with 14 points. That goal against SMU was the final tally of the 2010 campaign for Scott, but he did finish second on the Knights with eight assists.

Helping UCF advance all the way to the national postseason in 2010, Scott will now prepare for 2011 season with the hopes of guiding the Knights back to the NCAA Tournament and beyond the second round.

Where and how will you be spending your summer?
I will be mostly here in Orlando and occasionally going back home to Palm City. I will be taking the LSAT in June, so I'll be studying a good part of the summer.

What are your personal goals as they relate to soccer for the summer?
I want to get stronger and continue to get faster and quicker.

How can you take what you learned/accomplished/achieved from this past season into summer?
Just keeping the mindset that hard work pays off. Knowing that all work that we are doing now leads directly into the next season.

What are your plans regarding workouts and preparing for the upcoming season?
I plan on continuing to work with Coach Prosser in the weight room and speed and agility work. And as always: playing whenever I can.

Looking forward to next season, what are your goals for the UCF men's soccer program?
To continue to build off last year's success and to not be content. We all want to bring a championship to UCF.

What are your individual goals for the 2011 season?
To help our team win any way possible. Whatever the team needs me to do to win, I'll do.

What are you most looking forward to in the 2011 season?
This being my last year I want to continue building this program so we compete for championships every year. I think this year we have a great chance if we really work for it.

What is the most important aspect of this summer for you to be ready for the upcoming season?
To not lose focus on our team's goals continue to work hard.
