OCALA, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - The UCF men's golf team concluded a successful year Saturday as play closed at the NCAA Regional at the Ocala Golf & Country Club. The Knights tied for 10th at the three-day event.

Head coach Bryce Wallor's Knights were one of 14 teams that competed in Ocala. UCF secured a spot in the regionals by claiming its third-consecutive Conference USA Championship crown in April.

UCF finished the regional at 873 (+9). The top-five finishers at the event advanced to the NCAA Championship, which will be held in Stillwater, Okla., starting May 31. Fifth-ranked Florida won the tournament at 18-under 846, followed by No. 6 Augusta State (852, -12), Kennesaw State (853, -11), NC State (855, -9) and No. 17 Arkansas (856, -8).

The Knights were making their fifth-consecutive regional appearance.

UCF was led by freshman Greg Eason (Leicester City, England), who tied for 17th at 214 (-2). Junior Brad Schneider (Valrico, Fla.) tied for 29th (218, +2) and fellow junior Connor Arendell (Cape Coral, Fla.) tied for 33rd (219, +3). Arendell carded a 2-under 70 during Saturday's final round.

Competing in his first postseason tournament, freshman Kyle Wilshire (Georgetown, Ky.) placed 67th (231, +15). On Saturday, senior Nuno Henriques (Funchal, Portugal) recorded a 2-under 70. Henriques battled an injury throughout the event and was unable to play during the first round Thursday.

UCF's successful campaign in 2010-11 included three tournament titles, and seven total top-five finishes in 11 events.
