ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Women's U.S. Open Qualifying begins Monday, May 23 at Deerwood Country Club in Jacksonville. Current UCF women's golfer Kaitlyn Price (Jacksonville Beach, Fla.) along with signees Heather Proctor (Silver Springs, Fla.) and Katie Mitchell (Fernandina Beach, Fla.) will compete in the 36-hole qualifier.

The 2011 U.S. Women's Open will be held at The Broadmoor July 7-10 in Colorado Springs, Colo. Eighty-two players are already fully exempt for this year's field, with the remainder of participants filled by the 36-hole sectional qualifying events being held at 20 sites across the country.

Price played exceptionally well for the Knights in 2010-11. As a freshman she appeared in all 11 tournaments, led the team in stroke average (76.43) and was UCF's top finisher in four events.

Proctor is the No. 26-ranked golfer in the 2011 class according to Golfweek. She led her team to its first regional appearance. Mitchell is the No. 101-ranked signee in the 2011 class and earned all-district and all-region accolades in her senior year.
