TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (UCFAthletics.com) - Following a 20-day hiatus, the UCF rowing team is back in action Saturday as it travels to Tuscaloosa, Ala., for a duel regatta vs. Conference USA rival Alabama on Black Warrior River. The first event of the day is scheduled to get underway at 11:30 a.m.

"After two weekends off, we are really excited to get out there and race again," head coach Becky Cramer said. "Alabama has had a successful spring and it will be great to test our speed against a conference opponent and get a preview of the C-USA Championship."

The Knights placed second in the inaugural C-USA Championship last season, with the Crimson Tide posting a sixth-place finish in the league's first event.

Saturday's regatta at Alabama will also be the home team's "Power of Pink" event, the Crimson Tide's department-wide effort to help raise awareness in the fight against breast cancer. Fans will have the opportunity to win a number of prizes throughout the day, including an iPad and iPods.

Fans that plan to attend Saturday's event on Black Warrior River will be able to watch the races from The Park at Manderson Landing. Access to The Park is limited to the McCorvey Drive entrance, which goes through the University of Alabama campus. Fans are encouraged to park on campus and then cross into The Park where McCorvey Drive intersects Jack Warner Parkway.

Following its showing at Alabama, UCF will compete in the Lake Natoma Invitational in Sacramento, Calif., before returning to Orlando to host its lone home event of the year April 30 vs. Miami.
