ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Senior Jelisa Caldwell (Macon, Ga.) of the UCF women's basketball team was named as one of the 12 recipients of the 2010-11 Conference USA Spirit of Service Award. The award is presented to one student-athlete from each of the league's 12 institutions based upon significant community service, good academic standing and participation in their sport and is awarded three times each academic year for the fall, winter and spring seasons.

Caldwell was UCF's representative after a senior season that saw her help the Knights to a C-USA Championship and a berth in the NCAA Tournament. Caldwell was recognized as a member of the All-Tournament Team and the Most Valuable Player of the C-USA Championship after posting her first-career double-double in the title game against Tulane with 27 points and 12 rebounds.

Off the court Caldwell has been named a UCF "scholar baller" for her work in the classroom. Caldwell's academic success led to an early graduation in December before enrolling in graduate school for the spring semester. Majoring in interpersonal communications and a minor in marketing as an undergraduate, Caldwell is one of the most well-rounded student-athletes at UCF.

Off the court and away from the classroom Caldwell has also participated in service events at the Russell Home, UCF's College of Education, Central Florida Miracle League, Give Kids the World and Kids Together Child Care.
