ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Following an off-weekend, the UCF outdoor track & field team made a return appearance to the Top 25 in the latest U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) weekly rankings. The Knights jumped from No. 27 last week to the No. 17 spot in this week's most recent poll.

UCF last ran on April 16 at the Tom Jones Memorial in Gainesville. Junior Jackie Coward earned Conference USA Female Track & Field Athlete of the Week honors for breaking two school records at the annual meet hosted by Florida. Coward set new UCF marks in the 100- and 400-meter hurdles in 12.96 and 57.78, respectively. Her 12.96 in the 100-meter hurdles is the fastest wind-legal mark in the nation this season.

The Knights made their first appearance in the Top 25 earlier this season when they moved from No. 45 to No. 25 in the April 6 rankings. UCF joins No. 15 SMU as the only two teams from C-USA to crack the national rankings this week.

Head coach Caryl Smith Gilbert and several members of the Knights will return to competition this weekend when they head to Philadelphia and the historic Penn Relays beginning Thursday morning.
