Women's Golf Wraps Up Second Round at Ole Miss

OXFORD, Miss. (UCFAthletics.com) -Freshman Kaitlyn Price (Jacksonville Beach, Fla.) topped the UCF women's golf team for the second consecutive day as the Knights played in the second round of action at the Rebel Intercollegiate in Oxford, Miss.

Overall UCF took home a 317 in Saturday's penultimate round to dip into 16th place overall at 621 (+45). No. 10 Tennessee maintained its big lead over the field with a 569 (-7), extending an eight-stroke first round lead to 24 behind a tournament record 279 in Saturday. Tulsa stands in second place at 593 (+17) followed by UCF Challenge champion Coastal Carolina at 595 (+19).

Price carded a 75 on Saturday, the top score for the Knights for the second day in a row after posting a 73 on Friday in the opening round. Her combined tally of 148 (+4) is eight strokes better than her top teammate. Price is tied for 17th overall in the 96-golfer field. Sophomore Carolin Pinegger (Marquartstein, Germany) is second overall for UCF with a 156 (+12).

Sophomore Valentina Fontaine (Santiago, Chile) sits third amongst the Knights at 158 (+14), just one stroke ahead of fellow sophomore Jordyn Hage (Winter Park, Fla.) with a 159 (+15). Through 36 holes, senior Katie Detlefsen (Eagan, Minn.) rounds out the UCF competitors at Ole Miss with her 166 (+22).

Play wraps up on Sunday morning in Oxford with an 8:30 a.m. CT shotgun start. UCF will be playing with some familiar faces from the I-4 corridor, USF and Rollins College.
