GAINESVILLE, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - With only two individual events scheduled for Saturday at the Florida Relays, the UCF outdoor track & field team made a statement in the relay races. Two more school records fell by the wayside at the Percy Beard Track at James G. Pressly Stadium as the Knights' relay teams put forth a strong showing on the second day of the annual meet.

The first school mark to fall was the 4x100 meter relay. Setting the previous record of 43.75 just last week at the UCF invitational, the Knights eclipsed that mark with a 43.53 Saturday in Gainesville. UCF was the top college team in the event and second overall.

The Knights then went on the break the three-year old school record in the 4x200-meter relay. UCF ran a 1:32.81 on Saturday afternoon, breaking the previous mark of 1:36.34 set in 2008 by three and a half seconds.

Dominique Booker, Aurieyall Scott, Lynne Layne and Sheila Paul were the four Knights that ran in the two record-breaking performances of the day. "It was a great day for us," head coach Caryl Smith Gilbert said. "We didn't run in the 4x400 because we wanted to stay healthy. The goal was to use this as a training weekend for us to run well and post some strong marks and I think we did that. I was very pleased with the effort of all the relay teams this afternoon."

Two more relays also ran on day two on the Gators' home track with the 1600 meter sprint medley and the 4x100 meter shuttle hurdle. In the sprint medley, the Knights ran a 3:54.43 to finish fifth overall. The shuttle hurdle saw UCF run to a fourth-place finish overall and third by a college team in 56.25.

Tomika Story was the lone UCF entrant in the triple jump, finishing 21st with a distance of 38-1.50/11.62m. Destinee Romain competed in the shot put, but did not get a mark.
