ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - The UCF men's tennis team concluded a busy weekend Sunday with a 4-0 victory over Conference USA foe Tulane at the UCF Tennis Complex. The Knights took the doubles point before winning three quick singles matches.

The teams did not conclude the other contests due to Tulane's (5-5) travel schedule. The Knights improved to 6-6 with the win. UCF was playing its second match in as many days.

Senior Blaze Schwartz (Pensacola, Fla.) recorded a huge win for the Knights at No. 1 doubles. Facing the 89th-ranked player in the country, Idan Mark, Schwartz posted a 7-5, 7-5 victory.

Tulane won at No. 1 doubles, but UCF claimed victories at the other two spots. At No. 3, junior Claudio Romano (Valencia, Venezuela) and freshman Mitch Thams (Queensland, Australia) handled Rodrigo Rappaccioli and Takuma Ohashi, 8-3. Junior Eugene Dolgovykh (Palm Coast, Fla.) and freshman Matthew Zachary (Bossier City, La.) topped Shay Wali and Joe Young, 9-7, at No. 2.

"Today was a good win for us to get back on track," UCF head coach Bobby Cashman said. "We played hard and have been successful all year when we win the doubles point. We didn't know how our guys would respond after losing a disappointing match against Miami, but today our team showed that we can be resilient. Blaze Schwartz picked up a great win over the 89th-ranked player in the country. He did a great job out there."

UCF's other singles wins came at No. 2 and No. 6. Thams defeated Ohashi (6-4, 6-3) at No. 6, and freshman Erik Brunskog (Linkoping, Sweden) blasted Young, 6-2, 6-1, at the No. 2 spot.

UCF's next match is Friday at 11 a.m. against visiting UNC-Wilmington. Admission is free at the UCF Tennis Complex.
