ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Thanks to a big week on the diamond, UCF center fielder Ronnie Richardson was selected as a CollegeBaseball360.com Primetime Performer of the Week. The sophomore from Eagle Lake, Fla., was one of just 11 players to be named to the honor roll.
In four road games from March 22-27, Richardson paced UCF with a .385 average by going 5-for-13 at Miami and in a three-game series at Rice. He scored three runs, drove in a pair, had a double and a triple and also stole a base.
Facing off with Conference USA preseason favorite Rice, Richardson went 2-for-4 with a RBI in game one and had another hit with a RBI and a run in the second game. After the two teams split the first two games of the series, Richardson finished the rubber match 2-for-3 with two runs and a triple as the Knights downed the Owls 5-4.
Richardson currently holds a .352 average with 27 runs and eight stolen bases as he has helped lead No. 23 UCF to a 19-6 record.
The Knights will hope to play at No. 20 Stetson Wednesday depending on the weather, and will host No. 20 Southern Miss this weekend beginning Friday at 6:30 p.m.
