GREENVILLE, N.C. (UCFAthletics.com) - On the road for the first time since Feb. 27, the UCF women's tennis team delivered a 5-2 victory at East Carolina Saturday. The Knights have now won three of their last four matches to improve to 7-6 on the year (2-0 in Conference USA), while the Pirates dropped to 14-6.

Grabbing momentum early, UCF swept all three doubles matches to take a 1-0 overall lead and did so in impressive fashion. The top pair of Courtney Griffith and Genevieve Lorbergs flew by Natalie Collins and Petra Vogel, 8-2, and Josephine Haraldson and Alexis Rodriguez secured an 8-3 win over Manon Bissat and Neena Wanko at No. 2. Completing doubles play, Taylor Dubins and Andrea Yacaman edged Jessica Cooke and Yilian Zhang at No. 3, 8-6.

The Knights would stretch that lead to 3-0 when singles play began as Lorbergs cruised by Vogel, 6-3, 6-1 at No. 3, and Haraldson notched a 6-1, 6-2 victory at No. 3 against Bissat.

Following ECU's first point, Griffith locked up the overall win for UCF when she posted a 5-7, 6-3, 6-4 comeback-victory vs. Zhang at No. 5. Closing out the Knights' day, Jenny Frisell won in a third-set super-breaker at No. 2 against Collins.

The Black and Gold wraps up its trip to North Carolina when it clashes with No. 67 UNC-Wilmington Sunday at 11 a.m. in Cary, N.C.

UCF will be hosting the C-USA Women's Tennis Championship April 21-24 at the Lake Cane Tennis Center in Orlando, and admission will be free for all fans.
