UCF Women's Golf Continues Play at John Kirk/Panther Intercollegiate

STOCKBRIDGE, Ga. (UCFAthletics.com) -Looking for its first team title of the season, the UCF women's golf team has positioned itself for a crucial final 18 holes at the Eagle's Landing Country Club golf course Tuesday morning. After 36 holes, the Knights are currently in a three-way tie for fourth place overall at the John Kirk/Panther Intercollegiate hosted by Georgia State.

UCF shot a 302 on the first 18 holes on Monday morning and finished the afternoon session with a team total of 307 giving the Knights a 36-hole score of 609 (+33). The Knights stand in a three-way tie for fourth place with Maryland and East Tennessee State, three shots back of third place Michigan at 606 (+30). No. 25 Notre Dame is pacing the field with a total score of 591 (+15), while James Madison is second with 603 (+27).

Sophomore Jordyn Hage (Winter Park, Fla.) turned in her best performance of the season, shooting a 73 and 77 leaving her in a five-way tie for 17th place with a 150 (+6). Fellow sophomore Carolin Pinegger (Marquartstein, Germany) is one shot back of Hage, after recording a 151 (+7) for her 36 holes of play.

Freshman Kaitlyn Price (Jacksonville Beach, Fla.) and sophomore Valentina Fontaine (Santiago, Chile) are locked in a tie for 36th place, both shooting a 155 (+11). Senior Katie Detlefsen (Eagan, Minn.) is just one shot back of teammates Price and Fontaine, turning in a 156 (+12) through her first two rounds played on Monday.

Play concludes Tuesday morning with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. The Knights will be paired with Maryland and East Tennessee State.
